TT are champions in navigating their share price into the ground and evaporating shareholder value
They see themselves as best in class for innovation in mapping , but they are totally incompetent in generating income
No pricing power, they got to give their services away for peanuts and still can't get the companies turnover to grow , it is all in the forward book and that has been the story for the last 5 years , the numbers keep on rolling forward

There's an old roundabout in my neighborhood that's used like a speed bump; there's no left or right exits, just straight. The nav line goes straight through, and the car tries to drive straight through the center, which has some trees, a boulder, and a flagpole. The roundabout has existed for at least 10 years. I've already checked OSM and TomTom and they both show the roundabout. Reported a bunch when that was still an option.

Pretty sure originally that roundabout was a dead end cul-de-sac, and later they extended the road without eliminating the circle.

Can't wait for Tesla to fleetsource mapping

Bosch Plans Global Automated Valet Parking Expansion

Bosch is expanding the access to automated valet parking now that its systems have been approved for commercial use at Stuttgart airport.

The automotive supplier giant with connected parking technology partner APCOA is installing the technology in 15 further parking garages in Germany. From Hamburg to Munich, work to expand the infrastructure-based, automated, and driverless SAE Level 4 parking system is set to start in 2023.

As a first step, the two companies are planning to make up to four parking spaces per parking garage ready for automated valet parking. They also envisage rolling the systems out worldwide. The companies said their goal is to equip several hundred parking garages across the globe with automated valet parking in the years ahead.

Their system allows drivers to park a vehicle in a handover zone near the entrance of a parking garage and then, using a smartphone app, they can order the automated and driverless parking service. The basis for this is Bosch stereo cameras, which not only identify vacant parking spaces but also monitor the driving aisle and its surroundings, and detect obstacles or people in the aisle. If an unexpected obstacle is detected, the vehicle brakes and comes to a complete stop. Only once the route is clear does it continue on its way. For this purpose, all the data generated by the cameras is fed into edge computers. Algorithms transmit the driving maneuver to be made and thus enable driverless parking, even when moving between stories on narrow ramps. The system also relies on technology installed in the parking garage keeping the technical requirements in the vehicle to a minimum, so that the automated and driverless valet parking service lends itself to all vehicle classes.

Dr Markus Heyn, member of the Bosch board of management and chairman of the mobility solutions business sector, said: “We will expand the number of such parking spaces based on the expected ramp-up of vehicles featuring automated valet parking. Our experience with charge spots for electric vehicles shows us how important it is for infrastructure growth to keep pace with the technology. Together with our partner APCOA, we are now making sure that this will be the case for automated valet parking.”

BMW offers OTA software updates for its infotainment systems, adding new features and upgrading those already in use.

Nissan OTA updates

Audi, specifically the Audi e-Tron, also offers OTA updates for its map system.

Mercedes-Benz OTA updates
Mercedes currently updates its infotainment and maps system around every three months, with plans in the works for an all-new software set-up for 2024 models. The new Mercedes-Benz EQS is the first model to offer this feature.

Ford OTA updates
Ford has been fitting its models with OTA software since 2020, including the popular Mustang Mach-E.

Hyundai OTA updates
There are a few models that currently offer OTA updates in the Hyundai line-up. This includes the Hyundai Ioniq and Sonata.

Jaguar/Land Rover OTA updates
Jaguar/Land Rover provides updates to its cars to keep on top of infotainment systems and ensure optimised charging capabilities in EVs.

Honda OTA updates
The HondaLink system allows some Honda cars to receive OTA updates, including upgrades to CarPlay and map functions.

Are OTA updates safe?
While you might be nervous to accept updates for something as expensive as your car without visiting a garage or the manufacturer, OTAs are designed to be safe and secure to download.

Encryption technologies protect OTA updates from data hacking, and there’s no chance your car will be spying on you either – EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are there to make sure this doesn’t happen.

Do OTA updates affect car insurance?
There are concerns that accepting OTA updates in your car can change the cost of your insurance, as some providers treat these updates as a modification.

The best thing to do is to get in touch with your insurer directly and ask what its policy is. As OTA updates are a developing situation, some policies haven’t been updated to accommodate them.

Not updating your car with the relevant OTAs can impact the security of the vehicle, which can also have a negative effect on your car insurance.

Even een reactie op mezelf. Niet te hard oordelen want justin zal vandaag ook een lastige dag hebben gehad nu tomtom wederom het ‘kof’ schip in gaat.

Ik vermoed dat ze zelf niet een heel strakke definitie voor 'swarm data' hanteren, maar ik denk dat je het het beste kunt interpreteren als 'fleet data'. Dwz data uitgewisseld door en met CARIAD voertuigen.
Dat omvat de met TT uitgewisselde en door TT gebruikte data, maar kan daarnaast om andere meer proprietary data gaan die TT niet krijgt of die ze niet mogen/kunnen gebruiken.

P.S.
Het feit dat er inmiddels iets als een standaard voor sensordata is (SENSORIS) wil nog niet zeggen dat alle partijen daar fris en vrolijk aan meedoen en van alles en nog wat uitwisselen. Veel is nog toekomstmuziek, en 'swarm data' vormen daar denk ik slechts een kleine subset van.
