" HERE steps up game in Traffic "
the facts: Yday , just ahead of the Paris Motor Show , Here announced the introduction of a new traffic service.
the traffic service will use date generated by on-board vehicle sensors from Audi, BMW and MB cars to create a live depiction of the road environment .
data that will be prosessed includes speed, dirction and location, hard braking, loss of tire traction, while te camera's can add infor abt traffic signs, speed limits, road construction, road closures as well as available parking in combination with other info from other sources.
Here aims for more OEM's to join the platform that supports the new traffic services with a commercial launch 1H17
the Here announcement is no surprise, we hv always assumed that the owners of Here wud share probe and sensor data with Here in order to improve the Maps and other services.
the question is will the use of car data and sensor date lead to a better traffic service and will other OEMs start contributing?
TT has over 400 m probes providing detailed info abt road conditions coming from its own nstalled PNDs, its fleetmatics solutions users, Apple Iphone users and data agreements with VW, Renaut, PSA and Volvo
the data that TT gathers from these OEMs does in fact ( as far as we know) no data from cameras, , except for maybe some models
in that sense having car sensors from BMW, Audi and MB gives Here a modest edge, an edge Here will use to attack TT in traffic
however we expect the TT automotive contract partners to share similar data with TT, but it will take longer to get the same level of data as sensors and cameras are more common in the models f MBW, Audi and MB, than in Renaults and Citroen and VW
will OEMS start contributing their car sensor data to Here ?
nou denk het niet, want er is niet veel vertrouwen daarom heeft Here het ook moeilijk partners aan te trekken
dus moet er iemand tussen komen met een mooi schoon imago , rara wie zou dat kunnen zijn
goed dit laatste komt van mij
succes
