According to Gartner, the market for PRM applications has greatly transformed in the last 10 years, and it continues to transform further. This transformation is ideally suited for the ever-increasing complexity of the partner channel dynamics, mostly driven by the changing customer buying behavior. The market size for PRM applications stood at around $300 million in 2016 and is expected to rise further in 2017.
Globally, organizations have massively expanded the size of their indirect channels, not only to gain a faster foothold in new and emerging markets, but also to drive down the large costs associated with direct channel expansion and to set up dedicated distribution networks. This expansion demands a robust system framework to be in place to sustain and grow the business. Gartner believes that the market for PRM applications will continue to witness a sustained and healthy growth over the next few years.
With the ever-increasing product and channel complexity, PRM applications will continue to provide improved integration capabilities with different CRM, ERP, marketing automation, digital commerce, and BI and reporting applications. The use of machine learning and predictive analytics also continues to grow.
