Malaysia ends anti-dumping probe into CR stainless steel imports Malaysian Insider reported that Based on paragraph 23(2)(b) of the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Act 1993, the Malaysian government has decided to terminate its investigation into the importation of cold-rolled stainless steel (CRSS).
The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) said in a statement "We found that there is
no material injury on the domestic industry in Malaysia producing the like product that can be reasonably linked to the importation of CRSS in coils, sheets or any other form with a thickness of not more than 6.5mm and width of not more than 1,600mm classified under the Harmonised System Code.”
On April 28, 2015, the government initiated an anti-dumping investigation based on a petition filed by Bahru Stainless Sdn Bhd on behalf of the domestic CRSS-producing industry.
Miti said the petitioner alleged that CRSS originating in or exported from Chinese Taipei, France, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Finland, Indonesia, South Korea and Vietnam was being imported into Malaysia at a price much lower than the price in the domestic market of the alleged countries.
