Bingo weer een klus voor BAM.HS2 has made its first set of appointments, naming nine contractors on its ground investigation framework.
Those appointed include
Bam Ritchies and WYG.
The contractors will now have the opportunity to bid for each of the 92 individual work packages for ground investigation work between London and Birmingham, starting in the spring.
Work on the £50m framework is expected to begin in the summer.
The nine contractors are:
Allied Exploration & Geotechnics
Bam Ritchies – a division of Bam Nuttall
Environmental Scientific Group
Fugro Seacore (trading as Fugro Engineering Services)
Ian Farmer Associates (1998)
RPS
Soil Engineering Geoservices
Structured Soil
WYG Environmental Planning Transport
The framework represents the first major construction work and the first batch of contractors that HS2 has appointed.
Speaking to Construction News at HS2’s supply chain conference, commercial director Beth West said that there will be “specific, measurable benchmarks when it comes to choosing bids” for work, including contractors ability to use high-level BIM and offsite modular assembly.
