Voor de mensen die, net als ik, geloven in Ecommerce. Alibaba 5% in de min premarket op licht tegenvallende omzet. Ik kan deze cijfers toch niet slecht noemen. Wellicht een mooie long opportunity.
Alibaba lower following soft revenue numbers

Gross merchandise volume on China retail marketplaces of $109B was up 34% Y/Y; excluding the effect of the suspended lottery business, GMV would have grown 36%.
Mobile GMV of $60M up 125% Y/Y, and accounted for 55% of total GMV transacted on China retail marketplaces. Mobile revenue of $1.288B exceeded 50% of total China commerce retail revenue for the first time.
Cloud computing and Internet infrastructure revenue of $78M up 106% Y/Y.
Total revenue of $3.265B up 28% Y/Y; shy of consensus of $3.32B.
The company launches a buyback of to $4B of company stock over two years, mostly to offset dilution from share-based compensation.
In the presentation slides accompanying the earnings call, the company says 1.579B shares will come out of lockup on Sept. 19, and be available for trade on Sept. 21. The major components are 798M shares held by Softbank, 384M by Yahoo, and 269M by Jack Ma and Joseph Tsai.
