SBM Offshore's third Fast4Ward hull (H1497) has undocked from SWS (Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding) in China on 7 March.
First steel for the unit was cut in January 2019. It is unclear if the COVID-19 virus outbreak will delay delivery of the hull, initially scheduled for August 2020. SBM Offshore has allocated the hull to FPSO vessel Prosperity for the ExxonMobil-operated Payara project in Guyana.
Earlier in January, SBM Offshore's first Fast4Ward hull (H1468) arrived at Singapore's Keppel yard for topsides integration work, following its delivery from SWS in December 2019. The hull has been allocated to Liza Unity FPSO for Liza Phase 2 project, which is expected to commence production in 2022. Both Liza and Payara are located on the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana, where ExxonMobil has a 45% operating stake, with Hess and CNOOC holding 30% and 25% interest respectively.
