Dear customer,
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a rapidly developing situation with severe implications on lives and businesses. I would hereby like to inform you of the measures Avantium is taking to ensure we continue to serve you in the best way possible.
In the Netherlands, people have been requested by the government to maintain social distancing which entails, among other things, working from home. This is a measure that will remain in force at least until April 6th.
Fortunately, our Flowrence platform has been designed to require minimal supervision, and can be operated continually with remote monitoring and (secure) access to data. Therefore, and in recognition of the critical importance of your R&D, Avantium has organized its workforce, offices and laboratories such that we can continue to execute running projects, both for Flowrence units as well R&D Services, while adhering to our government’s guidelines and orders, and keeping our personnel safe.
Our government has also formally advised against any international travel, and the European Union is closing its borders. Consequently and unfortunately, we have had to curtail all travel for maintenance and support as well as commissioning new Flowrence units. We will, of course, do our best to provide support remotely, whenever possible.
Despite these limiting measures, the favourable features of Flowrence have allowed us to devise an operational protocol that will allow us (safely!) to start new projects despite the limitations to the presence of personnel at our Amsterdam site and laboratories. Therefore, should you have a critical catalyst R&D project that you are unable to execute in the current circumstances, please do not hesitate to contact us – we may very well be able to help.
We continue to monitor the situation closely, and will provide you with updates to our operations when appropriate. In the meantime, I sincerely hope you, your family, friends and colleagues will come through the pandemic in good health.
Best regards,
Steven Olivier
