Mineseeker to Supply New Cost Effective AIDS Tests to Africa
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 2006--
"Fear is a terrible affliction, whether it is the fear of treading on a land mine or the fear of not knowing if you are HIV positive." - Nelson Mandela, Johannesburg

The Mineseeker Foundation has reached an agreement with Calypte, a US pharmaceutical company, to purchase a new AIDS test product called Aware(TM), that is based on a saliva swab that can be used in the field by non-medical personnel.

The Foundation will fund the purchase of 1 million swabs, with an option on a further 4 million units. The swabs, now approved by the South African Health Authorities, has been trialled in Kenya and has proved to be as effective as leading blood test products - but without the necessity of a costly, medically supervised support structure.

The new self-test HIV/AIDS kit manufactured by Calypte is a world's first in the field of low-cost self-diagnosis of HIV/AIDS.

Nelson Mandela said, "As a patron of Mineseeker, I totally support the AIDS test initiative. The tests will remove the fear of many people who believe they may be infected and who are nervous about blood testing. Fear is a terrible affliction, whether it is the fear of treading on a mine or the fear not knowing if you are HIV positive."

Mike Kendrick, Founder of Mineseeker, said today, "While the primary objective of Mineseeker is the eradication of land mines, we are also committed to the regeneration of the local communities. Without that the clearance of mines is only part of the answer. Land will be returned to the people to grow food and a foster management programme installed to help re-establish themselves. This will mean growing good quality crops that will lift the natural immunity system - particularly helping AIDS sufferers. The introduction of the Aware product will help re-build the confidence of these communities."

The Mineseeker Foundation Patrons include Nelson Mandela, Sir Richard Branson, Queen Noor of Jordan, Graca Machel, international businessman John Paul DeJoria and the actor Brad Pitt. The Foundation is supported by other leading NGOs including Feed the Children, The International Youth Foundation and The Salvation Army. The test packs will be donated to NGOs for distribution in the field or sold at cost.

John Paul DeJoria, founder of Paul Mitchell hair care products and international philanthropist, added, "As a Patron of Mineseeker, it is my honor to be able to thank all the people and companies that are coming together in this initiative to help conquer AIDS in Africa.

"It's vital to be able to accurately assess the scale of HIV/AIDS in Africa in order that the precious resources available to fight this scourge are accurately targeted - and that's exactly what this new swab kit will enable us to do."

Lijkt me wel goed nieuws

Goodmorning to you,
A question. Why haven't you given some airplay about the Mineseeker Foundation on Business Wire?

Opvoeden werkt niet:

Calypte has a policy of not reporting ANY sales until the order has been received, processed, shipped and payment has been received.

This P.R., I believe, came from the NGO which made the order, Minesweeper.

Mike Kendrick, the founder of Minesweeper, and his wife, have a passion for Africa. An Englishman, he has a strong sense of social conscience which while thinking of Princess Diana and her mine sweeping advocacy, went to the British government to propose to find land mines from the air.

"For Mike Kendrick, this project is giving him a huge amount of satisfaction. "There's a massive injustice in this world. My wife and I love travelling in Africa and we would like to do something to help them," he says."

He teamed with others who are very social conscious in nature, Sir Richard Branson, the founder of British Rail, Virgin Airlines who is close with Paul Allen of Microsoft and he is a business "maverick" with an enormous heart---Queen Noor of Jordan who has an equally large heart and Nelson Mandela as well as many NGOs across the world.

One of Calypte's goals, all the way back to conception of the company, was to provide the world with cost effective HIV tests that could better society. It has been a long haul, but with other social conscious individuals, such as the Marr Group, who have not only added money but their global business savvy learned from their global oil ventures, real estate ventures, telecommunication ventures and their excellent management (Mr. Gale) Calypte is an exciting company which is beginning to roll.

Het is even stil rond HIV. In ieder geval genoeg tijd om de zaken op een rijtje te lezen:

Re: ***Just spoke to Tim Clemensen......

Tim has always been very good at taking calls and explaining information that is within the public domain.

As I stated earlier, I felt the company would be crazy to release information during this strategic time of operation. If you review Orasure history, you will see they seldom released info when they were entering the commercialization stage and as of this date are slow at releasing it, such as their supposed Thailand plant, that the basher Mobo continues to insist exists and has not been able to provide specific information about in the way of press releases, SEC releases, etc.

Secondly, press releases cost a LOT of money. The cash can be better spent right now.

Third: Delisting: It may be a good thing to to OTC right now. I am not considering it to be a bad thing--bashers here, bashers there. Specialists here, market makers there. Less constrictions, more amenable to growth, especially for a small company. It may be temporary, who knows? I can wait. I'm not worried at all.

Fourth: Privatatization. We've already seen false reporting of it by the bashers on the board...we've seen the attempted manipulation of the short sellers trying to make it an issue. There is a very large poison pill for privatization, as well as SEC required reporting. Calypte has three on the board of the subsidiary Beijing Calypte, Marr has two, as is the case within the parent corporation.

Fifth: Promising is in the conversation you had with Tim, you mentioned he mentioned Africa sales. This disputes the bashers comments about sales. There is also the continued work on the improved BED test. This disputes their statements about no R&D.

Sixth: Cash. If they are low on cash, that means the China factory deal has to be near a close or almost closed and in escrow or it means they had to produce six and one half million dollars worth of product that has already sold...if its the China plant, then that means they believe approval is insured because they wouldn't be purchasing it without approval. If its production of product, that means sales and profit. I believe it is a combination of both. Cash will come from sales and from the approval from China. I personally believe it has been coming in and I applaud Mr. Gayle for taking shares in lieu of salary. Clearly he believes in the company as I don't believe he would work for free for something that didn't have immense promise.

Seventh: I believe the next quarter CC call will be extremely promising based upon the above, coupled with the Arab Health Conference, BED sales ramping, continued R&D and China approval pending and awaited any day.

As far as the appeal, I believe it may or may not be accepted, but personally don't care. No matter what, it will trade and it will soar, IMHO.

So far, with the statements you received in your conversation with Tim, everything is moving according to plan, at the government's pace...not at that desired by the bashers, or by us....so all we can do is be patient, either hold or accumulate and wait for the news.

I believe I was off by a quarter...now, there are purchase agreements that mention millions of tests, there is a China plant, there is approval in South Africa and Kenya, there are trials in India, there is an application to for approval to Russia, there is an application to UNAIDS, there are plans for a U.S. plant and to submit an IDE to the FDA later this year...there is a CEO who is a major global player, there is a partnership with the CDC for not only revamping the BED test but for another test on another STD as well, there are many new products obtained through the China acquisition and there is financing to last a few months through the beginning stage of China production.

zou zomaar kunnen:

count now on the China application? We've got to be getting close. At 22 business days per month, starting around Feb 20th, June 20th should have put us around 88 days. So, I'm guessing we are now at about day 95. Is that about what you have?

Could be a heck of a week next week if we were to get approval from China AND the official PR from Mineseeker!!!

All entitlements under the Agreement cease upon termination for "cause" by the Company, termination without cause by Mr. Gale and Mr. Gale's death or disability. Termination for "cause" is defined as personal dishonesty, incompetence, failure to adequately perform duties, willful misconduct, breach of fiduciary duty involving personal profit, willful violation of any law, rule or regulation, conviction of a felony or any material breach of the Agreement. If the Agreement is terminated for any other reason, including, without limitation, termination without cause by the Company and constructive termination, Mr. Gale will be entitled to receive an amount equal to his base salary for a 12-month period, payable in 12 equal monthly installments.

On May 2, 2006, the Company filed a Current Report on Form 8-K reporting the appointment of Mr. Gale as President and Chief Executive Officer. The Company hereby amends that report to include the terms of the Agreement.

Nog 25 dagen om boven de $1 te komen.

"The Panel unanimously agreed that the Amex should not move to delist Calypte's common stock at this time and that it would allow the Company until July 31, 2006 to regain compliance with the Amex's continued listing standards."

In gespannen afwachting (goedkeuring Chinese FDA, verwerven van ong. 12 miljoen, eerste Mineseeker levering etc.)
