Japanese Steel Production Shrinks by 8% in Apr-Feb’23
Japan's crude steel production has declined in April-February 2023, as per a report from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation. The JISF report revealed that. Hot metal production had dropped by 10%, crude steel production by 8% and total hot rolled steel products by 8%
Among the total hot-rolled products of ordinary steel, rails, tires, and wheels experienced a 5% decline, while sheet pilings saw a significant decrease of 20%. Sections remained unchanged, while bars and wire rods saw a decline of 7% and 15%, respectively.
Plates experienced a marginal decline of 1%,. and electrical sheet & strip and tin plates experienced a decline of 5% and 12%, respectively. Galvanized sheets experienced a significant decline of 13%.
