Hays Plc Q1 Group Net Fee Rises; Says Focused On Profitable Growth

Hays plc. (HAS.L), a specialist recruitment company, reported Thursday that total net fees for the first quarter ended September 30 increased 3 percent on a headline basis, and 8 percent on like-for-like basis with consistency of performance as both Permanent and Temporary both grew 8 percent.
On actual basis, Asia Pacific net fees dropped 7 percent, offset by 8 percent rise in Continental Europe & Rest of World and 6 percent rise in United Kingdom & Ireland.
On a like-for-like basis, net fees increased 6 percent in Asia Pacific, 11 percent in Continental Europe & Rest of World and 6 percent in United Kingdom & Ireland.
Alistair Cox, Chief Executive, said, "We have had a good start to the new financial year, with all three of our key businesses delivering further growth.... Looking ahead, while we continue to see generally consistent conditions overall, the year-on-year comparators become more challenging, notably in the UK and Australia, and we are mindful of current macro-economic risks. Given this backdrop, we remain focused on driving profitable growth in our business."
