Orange: CEO declares his interest in Canal+.

(CercleFinance.com) - According to Les Echos, Orange CEO Stéphane Richard said he would be interested in buying Canal+, Vivendi group's pay-television channel. If 'Canal' were to be put up for sale, which does not seem to be the case.
Stéphane Richard said that if Canal+ was to be up for sale, it is certain that Orange would be interested in buying it. (...) There are many reasons for a much stronger alliance between Orange and Canal+, whose form and importance still need to be defined.'
In reaction to this announcement, Aurel BGC analysts ask: 'Canal+'s offers have been revised in recent months, although if the television group's new business model does not produce the results that are hoped for, would Vincent Bolloré be likely to change his mind?'
'Also remember that rumours regularly circulate about Orange's interest for Telecom Italia, in which Vivendi is the largest shareholder,' the analysts added.
