Er is bij de bestorming van het Capitool een dode gevallen. Een vrouw werd ter plekke neergeschoten en is overleden in een nabijgelegen ziekenhuis. Dames en Heren, het was vast niet haar bedoeling om vanavond haar leven te laten ontnemen. De treurige ontwikkelingen van vanavond hebben helaas wel tot haar dood geleid.

Er is nog geen mededeling gedaan of de overleden vrouw een medewerkster op het Capitool was, of een demonstrant.

Behalve de roep uit het bedrijfsleven om het 25e amendement te activeren, pleit ook voormalig Defensie Minister Cohen voor het 25e amendement :

“I don’t know where his Cabinet has been all this time, but it’s long overdue for the 25th Amendment because this man is no longer capable of serving the United States of America,” Cohen said on “Closing Bell.” Cohen, who led the Defense Department during Bill Clinton’s presidency, is also a former Republican senator and congressman from Maine.

Trump kan moeilijk de nood toestand uitroepen wanneer zijn eigen supporters gaan rellen.
Dat zou wel een erg doorgestoken kaart verhaal zijn.
Hij hoopt op clashes tussen rechts radicalen en links radicalen, zodat hij de schuld bij het linkse blok (bijv Antifa) kan leggen.
Alleen de links radicalen, ze zijn er wel maar niet georganiseerd (en antifa bestaat als organisatie helemaal niet in de US), of BLMers hebben zich nog niet overdadig laten zien.
Washington DC heeft de strengste wetten op het dragen van geweren van mensen buiten Washington DC, en dat is de reden dat waarschijnlijk niet veel van de opstandelingen/oproerkraaiers wapens bij zich hadden.

Hoe het zich nu in de andere steden ontwikkelt blijft de vraag en misschien dat er uiteindelijk wel een aanleiding komt voor Trump om de nood toestand af te roepen.
Het zal er ook van afhangen of de senatoren Trump nog willen steunen.

Het ontstaan van oproer in al die steden is in mijn ogen niet toevallig. Dit lijkt te veel op georchestreerd veroorzaken van onrust. Met als plausibel doel om de noodtoestand uit te kunnen roepen. Niet omdat het Trump zijn eigen mensen zijn die lopen te rellen, maar omdat Trump met de noodtoestand kan voorkomen dat Joe Biden op 20 januari ingehuldigd wordt als nieuwe President.

Immers, die inhuldiging komt voort uit de Constitutie. En de noodtoestand zet de Constitutie tijdelijk buiten spel !
