Thank you for your email and your interest in Steinhoff. Your feedback is appreciated.
Apologies for the delay in responding – yesterday was a public holiday in South Africa.
As previously stated, the decision to stop Steinhoff trading on Xetra on was a decision taken by Eurex Clearing AG. Their public announcement stated “The following instruments on Xetra will have their last trading day on 29.04.2022, due to withdrawal of their clearing eligibility by Eurex Clearing AG.”
Nothing has changed from a Steinhoff point of view. We understand that this decision is due to the Steinhoff share no longer being deemed to be CCP capable (a change of decision by Eurex).
Deutsche Börse informed Steinhoff that this change will only affect tradability of the Steinhoff share on Xetra and that trading on Börse Frankfurt is unaffected by the change. We are unaware of any decision taken on any other exchange.
Steinhoff has a primary listing on the FSE in Germany and a secondary listing on the JSE in South Africa. As a result the Steinhoff shares trade on many platforms and at this stage Steinhoff has no plans to change any of that.
Kind regards
