Several conditional contracts on the Fehmarnbelt link have been extended for a year so that they run until 2020.
THOMAS ALBREKTSEN
The construction of the Fehmarn tunnel between Lolland and Fehmarn has been repeatedly deferred.
Opponents and environmental approvals have, among other things, slowed down the construction of the 18-kilometer-long tunnel, which is expected to be the world's longest lowering tunnel for both cars and trains.
Recently, the German authority's approval of the Fehmarn connection sink tunnel has been postponed by the end of the year and goes beyond the contracts for the huge construction.
Therefore, Femern A / S has entered into a supplementary agreement with the entrepreneurial consortium, Femern Link Contractors, to perform three of the four major plant centers on the Fehmarn connection.
It is gratifying that there is now air in the schedule
Ole Birk Olesen (LA), Transport, Building and Housing Minister
It informs the Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing.
The agreement has been reached to meet the German authorities' need for additional time for regulatory approval, as the waiting is the last major task before construction of the tunnel can begin.
