A scaffolder who falsely claimed thousands of pounds in wages for a job he'd left caused the recruitment firm he'd been employed by to go bust.
Patrick Kelly had been sending time sheets in, claiming to be working on site.
But when an investigation was launched it was found he was on holiday in Turkey and the Far East at times he claimed to be working.
His mobile phone was also found to be being used at other locations when he claimed he was on the site in Liverpool.
When the firm, Bam Nuttall, found out about what Kelly had done, it deducted the £90,000 he'd been paid from the bill it owed to the agency who'd supplied him, Wrexham -based Elite National Recruiters.
The agency ended up going into liquidation and people had to be laid off.
Prosecutor Brian Treadwell told Caernarfon crown court: "He submitted time sheets to the agency, who would then pay the wages and claim the sum from the contractor
"The defendant worked on the site from August 2015 but suffered an injury and was put on light duties. He left the site in October 2015 but continued to submit time sheets until December 2016."
In a victim impact statement, Emmajane Albertini, who ran the agency, said she had been caused serious stress and anxiety by what 29-year-old Kelly had done.
