NVIDIA de parel voor de komende jaren:

Nvidia is no longer just a chip maker, it is an infrastructure company

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that the company has evolved into an infrastructure company.

"It's not about one chip," he said. "We have become a foundational company by which other companies are built."

Huang told a press briefing that AI is a foundational technology and that is why so many industries and companies are attending its GTC conference in San Jose.

"Every industry is here. Every company is here," he said.

Ik lees dit met enige treurnis.
Houd moed, Hopper. Het komt met jou en Nvidia helemaal goed.

Zo weet je dat de volgende chip van NVDA ook na een paar maanden waardeloos zal zijn.

Nvidia Plans Massive Outlay on US-Made Electronics, FT Says

"(Bloomberg) -- Nvidia Corp. aims to spend several hundred billion dollars to procure US-made chips and electronics over the next four years, the Financial Times reported.

Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang told the FT that the latest chips designed by his company, and Nvidia-powered servers for data centers, can now be produced at US-based factories operated by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Foxconn Technology Group. It marked a major step forward in supply chain resilience for the Santa Clara, California-based chipmaker, Huang added.

Nvidia this week hosted its GTC developer conference, where Huang, 62, said his company ultimately plans to shift manufacturing onshore. It’s already using TSMC’s Arizona factory to help produce some of its highly prized graphics processing units, which have become the most essential component for the current wave of AI investment.

Shares in TSMC and other Nvidia suppliers, such as SK Hynix Inc. in South Korea, rose in the wake of the report. In its 2024 annual report, Nvidia said it had $20 billion in total future purchase commitments as of January 28, 2024.

Huang, who in January met President Donald Trump, lauded the new administration’s support for the developing artificial intelligence sector and told the FT it was “a phenomenal result for AI in the US.” He also praised TSMC — the sole manufacturer for Nvidia’s most advanced AI chips — for expanding its investment in the US.

TSMC, Taiwan’s most valuable company, and its peers are rapidly making the US the top priority of their expansion plans, as tariff threats by the Trump administration hasten plans to set up in the country. TSMC CEO C.C. Wei this month announced an additional $100 billion in investment in the US, alongside Trump in the White House, and Foxconn is working with Apple Inc. to add an AI server assembly site in Texas."

NVIDIA Upbeats as Morgan Stanley Grows 'More Bullish' After GTC
Nvidia's 3.6M GPU Order Milestone Sparks Bullish Analyst View

Nvidia (NVDA, Financial) remains in the news on Thursday as Morgan Stanley expressed a more bullish view on the company's trajectory following an analyst Q&A at its GTC event. Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore highlighted that management's energy for the Blackwell phase was “notable,” despite cautious market sentiment.

During his keynote, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that major cloud providers, Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud, have placed orders for 3.6 million Blackwell GPUs for 2025, a jump from 1.3 million Hopper GPUs in 2024.

Moore explained that sharing these figures aimed to refocus the narrative on strong demand, addressing concerns over shifting Open AI spending and ASIC pressures. He noted that cloud capital expenditures should remain robust through 2025, with IT spending and AI investments driving growth in coming years.

Furthermore, Moore reiterated his Overweight rating and a $162 price target on Nvidia, while management outlined plans to meet increasing inferencing demands at scale, underscoring confidence in Nvidia's long-term prospects. Investors remain optimistic about growth.

@hopper,

Nvidia Stock Was Supposed to Get a Lift From GTC. It’s Dropped Instead.

Nvidia stock was falling early Friday. A downbeat market mood looked to be outweighing the confidence instilled in its technology by the chip maker’s GTC developers’ conference.

Nvidia shares were down 0.5% at $118 in premarket trading Friday, while futures tracking the benchmark S&P 500 index were down 0.2%. The stock rose 0.9% the previous day, but is still down 2.6% for the week through Thursday’s close.

Nvidia’s showcase GTC event has brought a flurry of technology announcements, which cemented its dominance in artificial-intelligence chips. However, that doesn’t appear to have overcome the drag from fears about the effects of a trade war and potential weakness in the U.S. economy.

“The GTC conference did not provide many meaningful catalysts for the stock. Many of the announcements had been largely expected or were reiterations of prior commentary,” Raymond James analyst Sebastien Naji wrote in a research note.

However, Naji kept an Outperform rating on the stock with no price target. He expects the company to remain the leader in AI hardware due to its annual improvements and the opportunity in moving from training models to inference—the process of producing answers from AI models—while also expanding its computing infrastructure across various industries.

“With levers like enterprise demand, autonomous vehicles, and
physical AI still developing, it is hard not to like the stock here, particularly given the multiple compression we have seen over the last two months,” Naji wrote.

Among other chip makers, Advanced Micro Devices was down 1.0% and Broadcom was falling 0.7% in premarket trading.

$4.5 Trillion Time Bomb: Wall Street Faces Triple Witching Showdown
Massive options expiry, tariff tension, and rate cut hopes collide--will markets melt down or bounce back?

Khac Phu Nguyen
Mar. 21, 2025 at 12:02 p.m. ET

Wall Street is bracing for fireworks as nearly $4.5 trillion worth of options tied to stocks, indexes, and futures come due in today's "triple witching" event—the first of the year. These quarterly expirations often stir up volatility, and this one's no exception. Traders are already moving to unwind positions to dodge unwanted assignments. While many contracts may expire worthless, the sheer volume in play is enough to shake things up. Charles Schwab's Joe Mazzola pointed out that even routine rollovers can jolt the markets, especially when they coincide with recent Fed guidance and a still-sensitive investor mood.

Despite a relatively reassuring Fed—signaling two rate cuts are still on the table—investors aren't feeling invincible. The S&P 500 (SPY, Financial), Nasdaq (QQQ, Financial), and Dow (DIA, Financial) all opened in the red, following Thursday's choppy finish. Tariff noise and trade tension are back in the headlines, undercutting recent gains. Meanwhile, yields are slipping, with the 10-year at 4.21% and the 2-year down to 3.92%, as investors take shelter. With the VIX still hovering above 20, the mood is cautious at best—especially as no big economic data is due to provide direction.

On the corporate side, there's more to digest. Micron (MU, Financial) dropped 7.10% despite beating on earnings and guidance, while FedEx (FDX, Financial) plunged nearly 10.4% at 10.17am today, after trimming its outlook, blaming macro headwinds. Tariff-related job cuts are becoming political fodder again, and UBS's Paul Donovan warns that if these fears start spooking workers, we could see real cracks in consumer confidence. With JPMorgan's massive hedged equity put position also set to expire soon, all eyes are now on how markets settle post-triple witching—and what this could mean for Q2 positioning.
