Spaanse industrie krimpt keihard

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De Spaanse industrie is in april enorm hard gekrompen. Dit bleek maandag uit cijfers van Markit Economics.

De inkoopmanagersindex zakte van 45,7 in maart naar 30,8 afgelopen maand. Dit is de scherpste daling sinds december 2008.

Een indexstand van meer dan 50 wijst op groei, minder dan 50 betekent krimp.

Italiaanse industrie fors gekrompen

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De krimp van de activiteit in de Italiaanse industrie is in april stevig versneld. Dit bleek maandag uit cijfers van Markit Economics.

De inkoopmanagersindex daalde van 40,3 in maart naar 31,1 afgelopen maand. Het is het laagste niveau sinds de 22 jaar dat Markit Economics de data bijhoudt.

Een indexstand van meer dan 50 wijst op groei, minder dan 50 betekent krimp.

Flinke krimp Franse industrie

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De activiteit in de Franse industrie is in april stevig gekrompen. Dit bleek maandag uit cijfers van Markit Economics.

De inkoopmanagersindex daalde van 43,2 in maart naar 31,5 afgelopen maand. Een voorlopige raming wees ook al op een daling naar 31,5.

Daarmee wijst de index op de scherpste daling in de 22 jaar dat Markit deze data nu bijhoudt.

Een indexstand van meer dan 50 wijst op groei, minder dan 50 betekent krimp.

Duitse industrie krimpt hard

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De industrie in Duitsland is in april nog harder gekrompen dan een maand eerder. Dit meldde Markit maandag.

De inkoopmanagersindex die de industriële activiteit meet, daalde afgelopen maand van 45,4 naar 34,5. Een voorlopige meting wees voor april op een indexstand van 34,4.

Een indexstand groter dan 50 wijst op groei, terwijl minder dan 50 krimp betekent.

Duitse auto-industrie zwaar onder druk - Ifo

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De omstandigheden in de Duitse automotivesector zijn in april flink verslechterd. Dit meldde onderzoeksinstituut Ifo maandag.

De index die de huidige omstandigheden meet, daalde van -13,2 in maart naar een historisch dieptepunt van 85,4 negatief in april.

Dit is de sterkste daling en het laagste niveau sinds Ifo begon deze cijfers bij te houden, na de hereniging van Duitsland, aldus het instituut. Tijdens de financiële crisis daalde de index in april 2009 tot 82,9 negatief.

"Nooit eerder zagen we zulke dramatische cijfers voor deze belangrijke industrie", aldus onderzoeker Klaus Wohlrabe van Ifo.

In april krompen de orderboeken, met een index voor nieuwe orders die daalde van -10,1 in maart tot -76,7 in april.

De voorraden schoten omhoog, terwijl de capaciteitsbenutting een duikvlucht nam tot 45 procent. Ook dit was het laagste niveau ooit.

Ook de verwachtingsindexen voor de productie en export daalden fors in april. De hoofdindex die de verwachtingen voor de komende maanden weergeeft, zakte in april tot -45,7, tegen 34,6 negatief in maart.

'Consumptie huishoudens EU derde omlaag door lockdowns'

LONDEN (AFN) - De bestedingen van huishoudens in de Europese Unie zijn een derde lager door de lockdowns in verschillende landen. Die consumptie is deels uitgesteld, maar deels ook verloren, zegt kredietbeoordelaar Moody's.

De daling van de consumptie zou, als die een jaar zo zou blijven, een afname van het bruto binnenlands product (bbp) van de EU betekenen van 20 procent. Een kortere lockdown heeft een proportioneel kleinere invloed op de omvang van de economie volgens Moody's.

Van de vijf grootste economieën in de EU zijn in Spanje, Italië en het Verenigd Koninkrijk de bestedingen van huishoudens het meest teruggelopen. Daarbij speelt het wegvallen van toerisme en een vermindering van de bouwactiviteit een sterke rol.

De effecten van de lockdown op de langere termijn en het herstel van de consumptie hangen volgens Moody's sterk samen met de voorwaarden en de timing van het opheffen van de maatregelen. Ook het herstel van het consumentenvertrouwen speelt daarbij een rol.
