The valuation obviously
was useless and provided an opportunity for dumping.

No doubt a deadcat bounce is somewhere in the works...perfect for traders....but don't confuse it with a comeback...

Listen up oh illuminating grand master
You are about as illuminating as a toad...I don't care about you...in fact, your incessant stupidity seems to know no bounds.

Your assumptions are pretentious and quite self absorbed. In fact, the only reason that I posted was to point out how ridiculous the valuations of this stock had become and to suggest directly that investors were about to suffer from that report...

I don't care what you think....you have proven to be incorrect....Why would anyone care what you think?

All seeing, All knowing, All full of it FJ
I see in Angstacom FJ is trying to admonish RickTheVet for calling out the possible (read: probable) eventuality of additional financing diluting us retailers to death.

Thing is that Captain Positive said the exact same line of BS before the last unexpected financing. PTK had said they had enough cash to last over a year and until their strategy was executed. Anyone who brought up the possibility of additional financing was berated by His Greatness with him pulling out the same song and dance quoting PTK statements saying they had adequate capital. Then when the financing came out Captain Jokesquad tried to spin it as a positive! What a joke.

Yawn...

I see no relationship between the P2 report & the action on the market. The report contained some goodies & a valuation that is higher than the previous one 3,5 y ago.

No, the weakness begun once they talked about a possible RS in the Information Circular as one the key points to vote on at the next AGM.
Although a RS is actually a good thing in the case of POET, many people had bad experiences, mostly with their junk stocks, nonetheless it brings back bad memories, so one can say that the confidence started to waver there.

But this isn't the sole reason because we went higher a week or so later.
The biggest reasons IMO are, Mark Benadiba that left the company, more specifically the Options he exercised. 3 mil. That helped to deteriorate the price, and since he left as insider there are no filings anymore with SEDI. Yet there's a flaw in the system somewhere as each time MB exercised his Options it generated a selling marker with his broker, or on the TSX site. Hence people thought other current insiders sold. It usually takes up to 5 days before an insider has to file with SEDI but even after that time frame has elapsed there were never any reports of current insider selling, simply because none were selling... yet the damage was done. All these "false" markers were in fact MB's shares hitting the market.

3 mil Options is peanuts compared to + 20 mil Options & Warrants the market absorbed this year.
So its the combination of a possible RS, MB selling, false markers and the illusion that other insiders were selling that did the trick. Add to that an influx of heavy bashing, fear mongering and an increase of shorters and the price dived even more.

After a handful of false markers we discovered yesterday that Sheldon Inwentash sold 500k shares, which of course wasn't a false marker this time. The shareholders of POET are very apprehensive when he sells as he was one the first to dump his shares in 2012 when the solar division went bust. To give you an illustration of what a knee jerk reaction he can trigger, just check the chart on Oct of 2013. Then he sold a measly 200k shares, yet we saw a quick drop of 25%. An overreaction of course, as the SP bounced right back up. Not sure if this time we'll see that again, albeit if he doesn't sell more than 500k I expect it.

Thing is SI is going to be a Director of POET after the AGM & he sold some now out of his RRSP account, because once he's an Exec he probably won't be allowed to sell, just like all the other Execs.

Add all of these factors together and that explains for the most part why we dropped so severely. One could add a correction of the broader markets & the mounting pressure on the Ukraine - Russian border as another reason. But whatever it is there hasn't been bad news from the company, nor from the technology, so it's really striking that the confidence wavered so much. Since there's no fundamental reason for this selloff it can only be attributed to penny stock mentality & rookie trader' psychology... & not necessarily the P2 report IMO.

Its going to take some time to restore this, but there are plenty events on the horizon to bend this temporary situation around, so in the longer run I'm not worried.
