Rode lampen windmolens kunnen uit, zeggen branche en provincies

DEN HAAG (ANP) - De knipperende rode lampen op hoge windmolens kunnen veilig worden uitgezet. In het Zeeuwse windpark Krammer zijn met succes twee systemen uitgetest die naderende vliegtuigen ruim op tijd opmerken, zodat de waarschuwingslampen alleen dan hoeven te branden. De provincies en de windmolenbranche laten weten dat ze nu "kijken naar de uitrol van deze technieken over heel Nederland".

Een van de systemen maakt gebruik van een radarsysteem. Na gunstige testresultaten in Zeeland wordt de techniek nu ook in het nieuwe Windpark Friesland toegepast. Het tweede systeem maakt gebruik van transponders, de zenders waarmee vliegtuigen signalen uitzenden. Ook dit blijkt goed te werken. "Het systeem wordt op dit moment ingeregeld. Dat betekent dat sinds begin dit jaar de rode luchtvaartlampen in Windpark Krammer steeds minder aanstaan", laten de Nederlandse WindEnergie Associatie (NWEA) en het Interprovinciaal Overleg (IPO) weten.

Rode lampen om het vliegverkeer te waarschuwen zijn verplicht voor alle windmolens die hoger zijn dan 150 meter. De lampen moeten in principe de hele nacht aanstaan. "Dat kan zorgen voor overlast bij omwonenden", aldus de provincies en de windmolenbranche.

Betalen

Hoewel de technische middelen om lichthinder tegen te gaan dus beschikbaar zijn, kunnen niet zomaar alle windparken er in korte tijd mee worden uitgerust. Per windpark moeten vliegtesten worden gedaan om te kijken of het systeem goed werkt. Per windpark bedragen de kosten van een radar- of transpondersysteem tussen de 60.000 en 100.000 euro. De vraag is wie dat moet betalen. Daarover zijn de windsector, de provincies en de Rijksoverheid nog in overleg.

De NWEA schat dat ongeveer 80 windparken in Nederland rode verlichting hebben. Dat aantal kan de komende jaren bijna worden verdubbeld, want er zijn nog zo'n 75 windparken in voorbereiding die wettelijk verplicht zijn om de knipperende lampen te installeren, zo laat de organisatie weten.

TotalEnergies, GIG & RIDG to Develop 2 GW Windfarm in Scotland

The joint venture between TotalEnergies (38.25%), Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (46.75%) and RIDG (15%), a scottish developer in offshore wind, has secured rights in the N1 area to develop a 2 GW offshore windfarm project in the ScotWind leasing round. The West of Orkney Windfarm will be located 30km off the west coast of Orkney in Scotland. This project aims to start producing renewable power by 2030 & represents potentially more than GBP 4 billion of investment.

As part of this development, the partners will unlock a GBP 140 million initiative to support the development of the local supply chain, including the enhancement of ports and harbor infrastructure in Orkney and Caithness. This will ensure high levels of local content and actively promote employment and innovation in the region. The consortium has already undertaken extensive site investigations, especially in relation to the environment, to ensure that the project fully meets its sustainable development objectives. The consortium has also finalized a grid connection agreement with National Grid.

Once built, the windfarm could also deliver renewable power to the Flotta Hydrogen Hub, a proposed large-scale green hydrogen production facility in Orkney.

The West of Orkney Windfarm is the fourth major offshore wind project that TotalEnergies has embarked on in the UK since 2020. The Company now has interests in projects with around 5 GW of potential capacity under development and construction in the UK. These projects will come on stream between 2023 and 2030.

Omzetprognose Vestas stelt teleur

Vestas, wereldleider in windturbines en bijgevolg een lieveling in duurzame fondsen, mikt dit jaar op een omzet tussen 15 en 16,5 miljard euro. Dat is duidelijk onder de gemiddelde analistenprognose van 16,6 miljard euro.

Bovendien gaat Vestas over 2022 uit van een bedrijfswinstmarge (ebit) tussen 0 en 4 procent. Het midden van die vork ligt duidelijk onder de ebitmarge van circa 3 procent die Vestas verwacht over 2021.

De aanbodperikelen zorgen voor belangrijke kosteninflatie en een uitstel van projecten.

Siemens Gamesa to Suply 5.X Platform to Iberdrola in Spain

Siemens Gamesa has made another first with long-standing partner Iberdrola to supply its industry leading 5.X platform turbines to the 94 MW Iglesias wind farm in Burgos in the north of Spain. This is the first in the country to deploy this turbine, the most powerful in Onshore currently on the market, featuring leading technology. This will also be the most powerful turbine Iberdrola has installed in any wind farm in Spain. Just one of these turbines will be able to provide clean energy to around 5,000 households.

In total, Siemens Gamesa will supply 14 SG 6.6-170 (Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform) and two SG 5.0-145 turbines (Siemens Gamesa 4.X platform). The first 14 turbines will operate at a nominal capacity of 6.0 MW, backed by a 170-meter rotor. The wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in early 2023 and the contract includes a service agreement for a period of five years.

The nacelles for these turbines will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Ágreda and the new project will also boost the activity of Siemens Gamesa's Spanish suppliers, which will be involved in the production of various components, such as the wind turbine towers.

The 94 MW of clean energy that the wind farm will produce will provide electricity to more than 75,000 households, more than half of the entire population of the province of Burgos. In addition, it will help to avoid the emission of 250,000 tonnes of CO2 a year, equivalent to the emissions of around 150,000 vehicles. To achieve this CO2 saving, four million trees would need to be planted.

Kongsberg Digital has joined The Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research on Wind Energy called NorthWind to contribute to the development of a Digital Twin Technology for offshore wind infrastructure. The main objective for NorthWind is to do research and innovation to reduce the cost of wind energy, facilitate its sustainable development, create jobs, grow exports and bring value to the partners, their clients and society at large. NorthWind will address challenges and opportunities regarding the use of wind power both onshore and offshore, in close collaboration with the research partners SINTEF, NTNU, UiO, NGI and NINA.

SSE-Marubeni to Develop Floating Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland

The leading renewable energy developer in Scotland SSE Renewables, along with partners Japanese conglomerate Marubeni Corporation and Danish fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners have won rights in the competitive ScotWind leasing round to develop what will become one of the world’s largest floating offshore wind farms off the east coast of Scotland. SSE Renewables-Marubeni-CIP partnership has won rights to 858 square kilometers of seabed that will support the development of a new giant floating offshore wind farm. The seabed is in the E1 Zone in the Firth of Forth off the Angus Coast and is one of the largest lease areas to be offered by Crown Estate Scotland to any bidder in the ScotWind process. It is near to the existing 1.1GW Seagreen offshore wind farm project which SSE Renewables is currently constructing, as well as SSE Renewables’ planned 4.1GW Berwick Bank super-project, which is currently in development.

The lease area has average water depths of 72m, making the site suitable for the deployment of floating offshore wind turbines to deliver up to 2.6GW of new installed capacity – enough to be capable of powering almost 4.3 million Scottish homes and offsetting around 5 million tonnes of harmful carbon emissions each year. When complete, the project will become one of the world’s largest floating offshore wind farms, positioning Scotland as a global leader in floating offshore wind technology.

The successful SSE Renewables-Marubeni-CIP consortium, which has unrivalled local and global experience in the delivery of offshore wind using fixed and floating turbines, will now begin progressing the development of the giant ScotWind project to target first generation before the end of the decade. Once operational, the project will significantly contribute to the Scottish Government’s significantly enhanced ambition of delivering around 25GW of next generation offshore wind projects via ScotWind.

All Wind Turbines in place at Vattenfall’s Blakliden Fäbodberget

Vattenfall’s largest onshore wind farm to date is now complete. The last of the 84 turbines is now in place at Blakliden Fäbodberget in northern Sweden. The annual production of just over 1 billion kilowatt hours corresponds to the consumption of around 220,000 Swedish households. In northern Sweden, the transformation and electrification of industry and mining is under way. A lot more electricity will be needed, and Sweden’s electricity consumption is expected to double by 2045. The Blakliden Fäbodberget wind farm, providing 1.1 TWh, will be an important part of this.

Construction of Blakliden Fäbodberget has now been under way for four years and in the past year around 800 components, of which 252 are rotor blades, have been transported to the wind farm, which is located in Åsele and Lycksele municipalities in Västerbotten in northern Sweden. The last turbines will soon be connected to the grid. After a trial period, the farm will go into commercial operation later this year.

About 200 people are working in snow and freezing temperatures to complete the installation of the total 84 turbines.

The Blakliden Fäbodberget wind farm is jointly owned by Vattenfall, Vestas and AIP Management.

Vrachtschip richtte tijdens storm Corrie schade aan bij windmolenpark

Het vrachtschip dat maandag tijdens storm Corrie tegen een olietanker botste, heeft nadien schade aangericht bij het windpark Hollandse Kust Zuid. Het schip, genaamd de Julietta D, kwam in aanvaring met een van de funderingen van de nog te bouwen windmolens, toen het enkele uren na de botsing stuurloos ronddreef.

Dat meldt energieconcern Vattenfall woensdag. De schade kwam aan het licht tijdens een verkenningsvlucht. Er komen verdere inspecties om de omvang van de schade vast te stellen. Deze worden uitgevoerd zodra de weersomstandigheden verbeteren.

Overigens kwam het schip ook in aanvaring met een transformatorplatform van netwerkbeheerder Tennet. De Julietta D verliet pas aan het einde van de middag het windmolenpark, dat gelegen is op zo'n 24 kilometer van de kust tussen Den Haag en Zandvoort.

Het schip is inmiddels weer veilig naar de haven van Rotterdam gesleept. De achttien bemanningsleden werden na de botsing naar Schiphol geëvacueerd.

RWE to Build Denmark’s Largest Offshore Wind Farm Thor

RWE has signed a concession agreement with the Danish Energy Agency Energistyrelsen. The concession grants the right to construct and operate the Thor offshore wind farm for 30 years. With a planned capacity of around 1,000 megawatts Thor will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date. The wind farm will be built off the Danish west coast and is scheduled to reach full operation in 2027.

Once fully operational, Thor would be capable of producing enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of more than one million Danish households.

DEN HAAG - De uitrol van nieuwe windparken moet tijdelijk worden stopgezet, zolang onduidelijk is wat veilige en gezonde afstanden zijn voor plaatsing nabij woningen. Daarvoor pleiten coalitiepartij VVD en oppositiepartijen SP en JA21.

Terwijl aanwijzingen voor gezondheidsrisico’s sterker worden, staat de rijksoverheid voor de taak nieuwe normen op te stellen omdat de oude in strijd bleken met Europese regels en vorig jaar buiten werking zijn gesteld.

Deskundigen van het RIVM en de GGD Amsterdam erkenden woensdag in een zitting in de Tweede Kamer dat windturbines gezondheidsschade kunnen opleveren. Naast slaapstoornissen, hinder, stress en een verhoogde bloeddruk kunnen de (brom)tonen veroorzaakt door wieken ook tegenvallende leerprestaties bij kinderen veroorzaken. Ook donderdag bespreekt de Kamer het onderwerp.

Flevoland
Momenteel staan er volgens minister Rob Jetten (Klimaat) ruim 55.000 woningen in Nederland binnen een afstand van één kilometer van minimaal één windturbine. Het gaat om 1767 windturbines in voornamelijk Flevoland, Noord-Holland en Friesland, aldus Jetten in antwoord op vragen aan JA21-fractievoorzitter Joost Eerdmans. Tot 2030 komen er nog zeker 425 turbines bij, die mogelijk ook weer dicht bij huizen komen te staan.

Eerdmans eist een harde stop op de uitrol van turbines. Hij vraagt zijn fracties in alle provincies om moties in te dienen voor een tijdelijke stop zolang nieuwe afstandscriteria niet door de Tweede Kamer zijn vastgesteld. „Het is bizar dat je nu windmolens gaat plannen bij mensen in de voortuin, terwijl over driekwart jaar misschien andere afstandsnormen gelden. Maar dan staan die krengen er al”, aldus Eerdmans.

Pas op de plaats
Ook VVD-Kamerlid Silvio Erkens wil nu een pas op de plaats. Het coalitieakkoord eist strenge afstandsnormen voor windmolens op land. „Die normen moeten snel uitgewerkt worden; nog dit jaar, zodat we voorkomen dat gemeenten allemaal hun eigen regels gaan stellen”, zegt Erkens. Hij vindt een medestander in SP-Kamerlid Renske Leijten. „De SP pleit ervoor om tot de tijd dat het helder is wat de schade is, het voorzorgsbeginsel te hanteren bij projecten die grote twijfel oproepen.”

11 Potentiële bieders in de eerste offshore windaanbesteding van Noorwegen.

OSLO (Reuters) - Noorwegen heeft twee gebieden in de Noordzee aangewezen om plaats te bieden aan maximaal 4,5 gigawatt (GW) aan drijvende en aan de bodem bevestigde windturbinecapaciteit en zal extra offshore-gebieden aanwijzen voor ontwikkeling onder grote belangstelling van energiebedrijven.
Utsira Nord, een gebied van 1.000 vierkante km (386 vierkante mijl), ligt ten noordwesten van de olie-industrie hoofdstad Stavanger en wordt gezien als geschikt voor drijvende windenergie.

Soerlige Nordsjoe II, zo'n 2.590 vierkante km groot en grenzend aan de Deense sector van de Noordzee, is geschikt voor aan de onderkant bevestigde windturbines.

Bedrijven en joint ventures die hun deelname hebben bevestigd zijn:

Het Zweedse Vattenfall heeft zich aangesloten bij Seagust, een joint venture tussen industriële investeringsmaatschappijen Arendals Fossekompani (AFK) en Ferd, die op beide gebieden wil bieden.

Shell werkt samen met lokale nutsbedrijven BKK en Lyse om biedingen voor te bereiden op zowel Utsira Nord als Soerlige Nordsjoe II.

De Britse oliegigant BP heeft aangekondigd dat het zich zal aansluiten bij het Noorse Statkraft en Aker Offshore Wind om te bieden op vergunningen in beide gebieden.

Het Deense Orsted heeft een consortium gevormd met Fred. Olsen Renewables, een dochteronderneming van Bonheur en nutsbedrijf Hafslund-Eco, dat van plan is om samen offshore windenergie in beide gebieden te ontwikkelen.

Equinor zal in beide gebieden areaal zoeken. Het is van plan een bod uit te brengen met Eni-eenheid Vaargroenn voor een drijvend offshore windpark in Utsira North en werkt samen met het Duitse RWE en Norsk Hydro voor een gepland windpark in Soerlige Nordsjoe II.

Het Duitse EnBW en verschillende Noorse partners, waaronder groothandel en detailhandel in voedselleverancier Norgesgruppen, hebben het Norseman Consortia-initiatief aangekondigd om een ??windmolenpark van 1,4 GW te ontwikkelen in het Soerlige Nordsjoe II-gebied.

Het Italiaanse Eni en het Noorse HitecVision hebben de joint venture Vaargroenn gevormd en zoeken samen met nutsbedrijf Agder Energi en Macquarie's Green Investment Group (GIG) areaal in Soerlige Nordsjoe II.

Los daarvan hebben Agder Energi en GIG plannen aangekondigd om te bieden op offshore windpark in Utsira Nord.

Magnora en TechnipFMC zijn van plan om te bieden op een site in Utsira Nord via hun Magnora Offshore Wind-partnerschap.

Deep Wind Offshore, een joint venture van rederij Knutsen OAS en nutsbedrijven Haugaland Kraft en Sunnhordland Kraftlag, plant projecten voor beide locaties.

Een joint venture van offshore toeleveringsbedrijf NorSea, waarvan de meerderheid in handen is van rederij Wilhelmsen en het Belgische offshore windontwikkelingsbedrijf Parkwind, heeft gezegd dat het van plan is om in beide gebieden vergunningen aan te vragen

Repsol to Supply Wind Power to Charles River Laboratories

Repsol and Charles River Laboratories International have inked an agreement through which the multi-energy company will supply 100% renewable energy generated from 30,5 MW of wind capacity to the US-based supplier of products and services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, government agencies, and academic institutions around the world.

The virtual power purchase agreement is associated with a wind farm that will be completed in 2023 and is part of Delta II, Repsol's largest renewable project to date, which has already begun construction and, once finished, will have a total capacity of 860 MW distributed among 26 wind farms located in the eastern Spanish region of Aragon.

UK Consent for Vattenfall’s Norfolk Vanguard Offshore Wind Farm

The UK Government has awarded planning consent for Vattenfall’s Norfolk Vanguard Offshore Wind Farm. Consent for Norfolk Vanguard follows consent for sister project Norfolk Boreas. The decision completes consent for the entire Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone. The 3.6 GW Norfolk Zone boosts Government plans for 40GW of offshore wind by 2030. Both projects in Vattenfall’s proposed Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone have now been approved.

The zone will produce enough power annually for the equivalent of 3.9million UK homes, with Norfolk Vanguard and Norfolk Boreas providing up to 3.6GW of renewable electricity capacity once operational.

Orsted is in gesprek met AXA Consortium over belang in offshore windpark Hornsea 2, in het VK

(Bloomberg) -- Het Deense Orsted A/S is in gesprek met een consortium dat AXA SA en een Credit Agricole SA-eenheid omvat om een ??belang te verkopen in het grootste windmolenpark ter wereld, voor de oostkust van Engeland.

De Franse bedrijven zijn in vergevorderde besprekingen om een belang in Hornsea 2 te verwerven, hoewel de veiling nog niet is afgerond, volgens de mensen die vroegen om niet geïdentificeerd te worden omdat het proces privé is. Volgens gegevens van BloombergNEF zou het een van de grootste transacties van dit jaar kunnen zijn voor een enkele hernieuwbare energiebron, ter waarde van ongeveer 1,8 miljard pond ($ 2,44 miljard) voor een aandeel van 50%.

Offshore windparken worden steeds aantrekkelijker voor zowel financiële investeerders als energiebedrijven die hun blootstelling aan hernieuwbare energie willen vergroten. Hoge stroomprijzen betekenen dat windparken de Britse regering betalen

Orsteds 1,3 gigawatt Hornsea 2 windpark zal een van de grootste ter wereld zijn wanneer rond 06-2022 wordt voltooid. Het zal in staat zijn om meer dan 1,3 miljoen huishoudens van stroom te voorzien en begon in december enige stroom te produceren. Het bedrijf zei eerder dit jaar dat het tegen de zomer 50% van het windpark verwacht te verkopen.

Vattenfall & Seagust Join Forces in Norwegian Offshore Wind Bid

Vattenfall and Norwegian company Seagust have formed a joint venture to bid for offshore wind areas in Norway’s upcoming licensing rounds. The joint venture represents Vattenfall’s entry into the Norwegian wind market. The joint venture intends to bid on licenses in both the Utsira Nord and Sørlige Nordsjø II areas in the North Sea. The Norwegian?government?has announced plans to build up to 4.5 gigawatts from both floating and bottom-fixed wind turbines, and the licensing rounds are expected to take place within 2022.

Seagust was established in 2021 by industrial investment companies Arendals Fossekompani AFK and Ferd. Seagust has the ambition to become an offshore wind developer with domestic and international operation, backed by the owners’ experience, capital and industrial network.

RWE is Constructing Sandbostel-Bevern Wind Farm

Construction of RWE’s next German onshore wind farm, the 22.8-megawatt Sandbostel-Bevern project in Lower Saxony, has commenced. A total of four Nordex wind turbines are being erected in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district, at the south-western edge of the Hamburg metropolitan area. What is special about this project is that three turbines with a total installed capacity of 17.1 megawatts (MW) are owned by RWE, while a further, identical turbine with a nominal capacity of 5.7 MW is erected by RWE on behalf of the local citizens’ cooperative OsteWind GmbH & Co. KG. The cooperative will operate this turbine themselves. “Following completion of the work, currently planned for the end of this year, the four wind turbines will produce enough green electricity to supply over 13,000 households with climate-friendly energy,” says said Jens Edler-Krupp, who is responsible for developing RWE’s German onshore wind farms.

The new wind farm in northern Lower Saxony is not just more proof of RWE's ambition to implement every feasible renewables project in Germany, it also shows that collaboration with local partners is an excellent way to drive the energy transition forward. RWE already operates onshore wind farms with an installed capacity of more than 580 MW in the country. In order to keep up the fast pace of expanding renewables, RWE wants to invest up to €15 billion gross in the expansion of offshore and onshore wind, solar, storage, flexible back-up capacities and hydrogen by 2030.

SSE Completes Sale of 10% Stake in Dogger Bank C Offhore Wind

SSE Renewables has completed the agreement to sell a 10% interest in Dogger Bank C offshore wind farm to Eni. As part of this transaction Eni has also completed the agreement to purchase a 10% interest in Dogger Bank C from project partner Equinor on the same terms. Eni entered the Dogger Bank C project with effect from project financial close which was reached on 1 December 2021. The total consideration received at closing was GBP 68 million.

Dogger Bank Wind Farm is the largest of SSE Renewables’ projects currently in construction. SSE Renewables is currently also leading the construction of the Seagreen offshore wind farm (1,075MW, SSE share 49%), which will be Scotland’s largest on completion, and the wholly-owned Viking wind farm (443MW), which will be the UK’s most productive onshore wind farm on completion.

Van Oord Awards Hellenic Cables Sofia Wind Link Laying Contract

Hellenic Cables, the cable segment of Cenergy Holdings, has been awarded a contract by Van Oord Offshore wind UK ltd, for the supply of 360 km 66 kV inter-array cables and accessories to Sofia Offshore Wind Farm in the UK, one of the largest single offshore wind farms in the world. Under the new contract, Hellenic Cables will design, engineer, manufacture, test and supply approx. 360 km of 66 kV XLPE-insulated inter-array cables and associated accessories.

The cables will be manufactured in Hellenic Cables’ vertically integrated, state-of-the-art submarine cable production plant in Corinth, Greece, a world-class manufacturing facility for high and extra-high voltage submarine cables for offshore applications. Cable production is set to begin in 2022 and be completed in 2023.

RWE has contracted Van Oord Offshore Wind UK Ltd to provide the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the monopile foundations and the array cables at Sofia.

RWE’s Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is located on the Dogger Bank in the North Sea, 195 km from the nearest point of the North East coast comprising an area of approximately 593 suare kilometer. Water depths at the wind farm site vary between 20m and 35m and the total amount of power Sofia is likely to generate would be enough to potentially provide almost 1.2 million average UK homes with their annual electricity needs. Once operational, the energy generated by Sofia's turbines will save more than 2.5 million tons of carbon emissions per year when compared to the use of fossil fuels in the UK.

McDermott Bgas Renewable Energy Project from TenneT

McDermott International has been awarded its largest ever renewable energy contract from TenneT for the BorWin6 980MW High-Voltage, Direct Current project. Through a consortium with Global Energy Interconnection Research Institute Co Ltd and C-EPRI Electric Power Engineering Co Ltd, McDermott will provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning services. The project is for the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of an HVDC offshore converter platform, located 118 miles offshore Germany on the Platform North Sea Cluster 7 in a water depth up to 131 feet. Electricity generated from offshore wind farms will be converted into direct current and transported to an onshore converter station located 28 miles onshore near Büttel, Germany.

McDermott will lead the consortium with GEIRI & C-EPRI through an integrated execution model utilizing McDermott's extensive global engineering centers and strategically located fabrication yards. The consortium will leverage McDermott's extensive project management, engineering, global procurement and fabrication expertise and GEIRI / C-EPRI's proven HVDC experience and world-class network solutions.

On the HVDC offshore platform, McDermott's scope includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, transport and installation and commissioning of the topside module and jacket. On the onshore converter station, McDermott's scope includes the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

GEIRI & C-EPRI's scope includes the engineering, manufacture, supply, installation supervision and commissioning of the HVDC system for the onshore and offshore converter stations.
